Hamilton County natives will happily tell you there are more deer than people in this part of the Adirondacks. This region is the least populated county in the eastern U.S., and it offers some of the world’s best outdoor recreation in the Adirondack wilderness.
From Long Lake at the northern end of the region to Indian Lake to the Silver Lake Wilderness in the south, public lands make up about 95 percent of Hamilton County which covers one million acres of forest, mountains, and lakes.
In the winter, the snow turns this region into a recreational wonderland. More than 750 miles of snowmobiling trails wind through towns and villages, cross-country skiing and snowshoeing are hugely popular, and several ski centers offer groomed trails.
Renowned for its outstanding fishing, Hamilton County is home to 77 lakes where ice fishermen brave the cold to catch pike, pickerel, muskellunge, and walleye which are in season all winter long. In warmer months, sportsmen drop their lines and fly fish for Lake Trout, Land-Locked Salmon, and bass on this scenic Adirondack region’s many rivers, coves, ponds, and scenic rivers.
As brokers of some of the most desirable and scenic properties in the Adirondacks, we’re proud to offer exclusive parcels of buildable land for sale in the Adirondack Experience Region. As residents of Long Lake, the Adirondack MT Land team is very familiar with Hamilton County!
